You can enter now with Parnelli or next season with a new team. There are still Ford Cosworth or Alfa Romeo engines available. All drivers who were active in 1976 and aren't contracted by another team are available.

Both times, they had no other options. It would have been too dangerous for the marshals to remove his car without the safety car. And after the Schumacher/Vergne crash there was too much debris.
