Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

I think you always consider the cars of the era you first became interested in F1 to be the golden standard of beauty. Thus I consider the cars of the early-to-mid 1990s to be the most attractive. "All the right curves in all the right places," as the recent chart hit states. A car you co...

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

I've probably mentioned this somewhere, but I'll say it again. The 2006-2008 cars (when they started sprouting all manner of fins/flaps and whatnot) looked beautiful. People complain about how messy and cluttered the cars looked, but for me there was something about that which screamed not only fast...

Re: The Ali Dia Football/Soccer Thread

Today was a fantastic day for Sunderland and its fans. It seems Sunderland have a knack of finding ways to peg Chelsea back, and they found out how to keep Chelsea scoreless, forcing shots outside the box and great defending a part of it. Shame Adam Johnson is too hit or miss of a player, he along ...

Re: Your opinion on 2014

Well it's been a rather topsy-turvy year personally, and sadly it's seen me become more and more distant from F1 and motorsport as a whole. I looked forward to the start of the season as much as anybody, I mean who wouldn't have? Apart from garbage double points (which ultimately didn't account for ...

[There was a documentrary shown on BBC4 a couple of months ago about Group B, and it was brilliant. Lots of great footage plus interviews with the likes of Rohl, Mouton et all, even Roland Gumpert. Re: Your Favorite "Racing" Related Film

Duval/Harry really reminded me of A.J. Foyt, mostly because of the accent and the look, and that appealed to me. I didn't really see a problem with Cruise really, in fact personally I think the acting all round was excellent. The wrecks I will agree with and yes they were overdone a bit, but in the ...

Re: Your Favorite "Racing" Related Film

Just watched Days of Thunder. I guess you could say it really got to me. Great story, great scenes, great lines, great everything. Someone link me to a film about Group B rally cars and I will kill myself for not being born in time for the 70s/80s (although to be fair the film was released in 1990)....

Re: A CART IndyCar Series (Indy Practice Results)

Is it too late to enter a one-off entry? If it's not, I'd like to enter Rich Vogler, but with a Buick engine. As a multiple-time USAC champion, he surely should know ovals. With the lighting fast (but very fragile) Buick, he should definitely be a force at Indy. BTW, I'd really question your skill ...

Re: A CART IndyCar Series (Long Beach Race Results)

Yes I did. As far as I know you can't simulate rain, at least not by choice. Hmm... It's the only logical explanation for 3 hours though. Weird. I think I have the explanation: You ran way too slow lap times at Long Beach. The current lap record is 1:06.886 from 2006. I doubt that the CART IndyCar ...

Re: A CART IndyCar Series (Long Beach Race Results)

Why did the Long Beach race take three hours? Heavy rain would probably be a good explanation. The real race took nearly 2 hours, so rain would probably be a good excuse for that extra hour or so. But since you simulated with xkoranate, you probably just ran the same amount of laps, IndyCar did in ...
