Re: 2014 Silly Season Thread
Sauber should go with van der Garde in the second seat. He was the most positive surprise for me in 2013 as I expected absolutely nothing from him but once he got up to speed I think he could outperform his teammate from time to time. And even though he is not maybe the driver that will set the worl...

2. HWNSNBM vs 63. Joachim Winkelhock Well, Winkelhocks race pace in Formula One was 0 kph since he never drove in one so HWNSNBM wins by default. 31. Tarso Marques vs 34. Double points should be for Monaco, Spa and Monza to encourage the designers to design a car that is good in a low downforce setting. The distance should be raised from 305 km to 500 km.

As I said on the previous page, this double-points rule also takes away consistency as a factor for the World Championship as well as devaluing all races before the season finale. Now I'll say, it's DISGUSTING to see such a rule come into place. They already ruined historical stats with the newer p...

I like that a budget cap is now seriously a work in progress (it is to be implemented for the 2015 season) and I also kind of like the new driver numbers thing. However, the double points thing is taking things way too far and I think it won't happen. Every world championship round has been of equal...

Re: Luca Badoer was even unluckier than we previously though
Great insight in this thread! So basically we could've had a result of 1. Herbert 2. Badoer 3. Trulli 4. Barrichello 5. R. Schumacher 6. Häkkinen which means that Irvine would've been champion and Minardi would've been 8th in the Constructors, ahead of Sauber, Arrows and BAR Talking about 1999 lets ...

Basically a Finnish sport publication ranks the best Finnish motorsportsmen in order!
I started thinking about Häkkinen, then Vettel.. so if Vettel only has won his championships because of Newey the same could be same about Mika. However, that is not the case for me, both are great drivers.

Apparently the Sahara group has bought more shares in the Force India team and that brings some much needed liquid funds. Good for Hülkenberg to secure a seat, even though it was more or less obvious he would be on the grid. At the end of the day, the Force India car, with McLaren technology and Mer...

Joe Saward just wrote a great piece about budget caps in Formula One. I fully agree with everything in that post!
With that said I don't recommend starting the budget cap too low but gently working the cap down as the years go on.

This is what I want to happen:
Vettel is 1st and Webber is 2nd and then Vettel has a "problem" at one of his pit stops and gifts the win to Mark. I think it would go a long way in repairing some damage done to Vettel's popularity.
