Re: Women in motorsport

I do interested in Sussie (or Susie?) Wolff race in F1. She's not that bad at Silverstone FP1. Williams is seriously need to re-think it It doesn't matter, as long as the FIA keep the current superlicence points system, Susie Wolff doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting a shot at a GP ...

Re: Formula One Rejects on national television!

Update: we did not make the next series of University Challenge, so I won't be making an appearance (obviously). However, this means that I can attempt to make the show again next season, which I obviously will. It's great fun, after all. Sorry to hear that! I was on my university's UC team this ye...

For the very keen, there is an entire book on Enzo Osella and his team. It was originally published in Italian, but, somewhat amazingly, an English version is available!

Re: High Resolution Formula One Images

Sorry Tommy, I disagree with quite a bit of that! 1. This is Kyalami in 1979 - the "Dallah Avco" with Arabic script livery below the mirrors matches that used on the FW07 later in the year. In 1978 the decal in the same position simply read "Saudia". (It turns out that my own arc...

A) Suzuka
B) Catalunya
C) Suzuka

1) is from 1993, and I would say it's either the hairpin at Suzuka or one of the tight corners at Estoril.

002) How do we know it's not from a pre-season test? The sun confuses me. It is like the shot was taken at noon. Also the Schumi 1996 pic, could it be from testing too? It's impossible to say, really, as the livery is identical (as far as I can judge!) to photos that are definitely from the Grand P...

My understanding is that, technically, the system McLaren were using in 1994 wasn't a fully automatic system, though it was in breach of the regulations. As far as I am aware, their system was officially classed as a "pre-selection" mechanism: the driver would still have to manually actua...
