Re: Question about 1950-1960 Indy 500 drivers...
If that is the case, does this mean that A.J. Foyt, who is seen as the greatest racing driver of all time, qualifies for reject status?! Is this a time without the likes of Senna and Schumacher and Fangio and Moss and Prost and Clark and Stewart and Ascari and Lauda and Rindt and Hill and Piquet an...

Re: Your Favourite Reject RACE????
They'll never go back to Paul Ricard. While it does have the ability to produce a wet race even on the driest of days, the circuit has been given a permantent "1T" status by the FIA, which means it will only ever be used as a testing cricuit for Formula One; it's ineligible to hold races....

Re: USGP Major sponsor thoughts
The USGP should move back to Long Beach. They have a faithful sponsor in Toyota of America but I doubt they would get involved in paying Bernie's price, even if Toyota HQ picked up the rest of the tab. Other problems would include a lack of garages lined up on pit lane (modern F1 teams pushing thei...

Re: Melbourne GP Race discussion
Secondly, if they had gone back to racing speeds again, Vettel would have been a moving chicane. A safety car period usually ends in a return to racing speed, so the rules on this seem to me fairly logical. That late into the race and everybody knew the car would effectively end under the safety ca...

Re: Your Favourite Reject RACE????
Not a single one of Tilke's tracks are good in my opinion. But that's a matter of taste. Almost agree with that one - although I don't think Istanbul is too bad! I'll agree on that, Istanbul Park is pretty good except for the dogs running around on circuit! I don't want to blur the line between wha...

Re: How Not to Run a Formula One Team: by Honda
CaptainHammer, that should be in the Reject Centrale Submitted Articles section. Very well written with facts, much in the Arrows-TWR collapse that is already posted there. It goes to show - Teams need to be run by people who know what they're doing, like Ross Brawn and Nick Fry. Nick Fry spelled th...

Re: "The Spirit of the Rules": Diffuser Discussions
I just hope the FIA will make the right decision. They were consistently inconsistent last year, so my hopes aren't high, but now that we have a season where several teams who are not the Usual Suspects are competitive, I kind of want it to stay that way. Because it isn't the Usual Suspects (read: ...

Re: Does anyone here rate Sebastian Bourdais?
i think Bourdais has definitely earned the title of whinge-meister in the current F1 paddock! unless anyone else has any suggestions? Bourdais has it a little difficult that his second season is in the wake of these major technical regulation changes, but with that said it is the same for everybody...

Re: Favourite Reject Driver and Team
So my choice is Gabriele Tarquini, who drove for Osella, Coloni, AGS and Fondmetal, what an impressive curriculum! He was fast but always in awful teams with no chance at all to progress. My vote goes for his persistence and his memorable battle with the Williams of Thierry Boutsen in the dying lap...

Re: Nelson Piquet, how long will he last?
I would consider Nelsinho's biggest flaw to be his arrogance. Throughout GP2 in 2006, he in general just seemed to be TRYING to tick me off. And I must take exception to Cynon; I believe that Piquet is at Renault for the sole purpose of preventing an Alonsoplosion like at McLaren in '07. If Alonso ...

Re: Melbourne GP Race discussion
The stewards treatment of Vettel is an outrage. Excessive punishment for a regular racing incident. Due to their far too restrictive rulings and the cars themselves being so fragile and lightweight, we will never again see the days of racing such as the Villeneuve/Arnoux final laps at Dijon in 1979...

Re: 090329 Melbourne Sunday Edition
First off, great podcast and not just for HWNSNBM. Almost as good was hearing Jamie and Enoch say the legend's name together. I think Jamie and Enoch are onto something here with the Zsolt-USF1 idea. Peter Windsor all but confirmed over the weekend that they will employ two Americans next season, bu...
